Aastha Foundation, Aurangabad is working for senior citizens. Aastha was running a home for senior citizens in a rented place in the city during 2012. There were 6 ladies members staying at home. Aastha Foundation Aurangabad organising various programs for senior citizens. So far we have successfully organized 12 programs, such as 1. Workshop on Stress Management for senior citizens. 2.Walk With Aastha. 3. .Aastha Snehi Meet. 5. Joy of Giving with Aastha “NGO – Exhibition, Conference & Networking”. 6. Yashwant Inspirational Talk Series. 7. Alzheimer Awareness Session. 8. Fund Raising by Zahida Noorani for NGO’s. 9. Free Eye Check-up 10. Introduction to MS-CIT for senior citizens.11. Free Bone densitometry checking camp. . With the intension to providing safety and shelter with love, care, dignity and respect to all people in such situations stated above, Aastha Foundation Aurangabad plans to construct a home with facilities such as meditation room, library, entertainment along with basic shelter and food for the senior citizens. This will be constructed on a 3-acre land near Aurangabad and will provide twin sharing rooms with sanitation facilities along with lawn and garden, dining hall and kitchen, meditation room and physiotherapy, counseling and cultural events for 100 senior citizens. The fencing to the land is completed. The construction work will start as soon as all building permissions are granted. We are organizing Certificate Course in Geriatric Care in association with Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS)Mumbai.
