For the last 18 years, Adakar Manch has produced 60 plays with 165 actors performing in these plays. Its areas of activities is broad, comprising of big cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Jammu, Bathinda, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Kanpur...to almost all villages of Punjab and some very interior rural areas of Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal, J&K. Organizes a theatre fest of 5 days every year since 2006 at Chandigarh. Has performed in Canada, USA, England and Pakistan. Has won many awards for its plays:- - Best play for PRINDEY JAAN HUN KITHEY in National Theatre festival by Punjabi Academy Delhi in 1998. - Best play for RAWAITAN TON PAAR in National Theatre festival by Punjabi Academy Delhi in 2008. - Its play IKKO RAAH SWALARAH has been staged 501 times since 1997 at different places of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Rajasthan and Canada. - The play PRINDEY JAAN HUN KITHEY has been staged 100 times, also staged in Panj Pani Theatre Fest at Lahore, Pakistan. - The group takes part in many annual theatre festivals at Delhi, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Lahore. - The group is active in creating social awareness through its plays at different levels. - The group has 40 actors/actresses in its repertoire at the moment. - The group performs minimum 6-7 shows every month. The director of the group, Dr.Sahib Singh is a renowned playwright, director, actor of Punjabi theatre with 30 plays as a writer and 128 plays as an actor. He has directed more than 50 plays. SOME ACHIEVEMENTS:- - Awarded by language dept Punjab in 2006. - Awarded by Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar in 2000 as best playwright. - Got internation IAAPA Award in Canada. - Got M.S.Randhawa Yaadgari Award in 2005. - Got best actor award in National theatre fest in New Delhi for consecutive 5 years from 1996-2000. - Won best Director award 3 times in 10 years participation in National Theatre Festival. - Got 9 books in his credit. - He is a prominent disciple of legendary Punjabi playwright S.Gursharan Singh. -Actress Rajinder Rozy of Adakar Manch has been honored by Sangeet Natak Academy in 2008 with Bismillah Khan Yuva Puruskar. She is also honored by Panjab Sangeet Natak Academy in 2009. - Many actors like Aman Kherha, Harish Verma, Rahul Joshi, Sukhpal Singh have achieved higher goals by going to National School of Drama, Mumbai film industry, Theatre departments of universities.
