AchieveMents: Ankur Pratishthan is working in the fields of agriculture, education, women empowerment microfinance, water management, etc. In agriculture it is working to promote organic farming in 20 villages in Ambajogai tahsil. We have so far contacted 3000 farmers and many are following the procedure of organic farming. Various demonstration and presentations have been arranged over past few years on Ankur Pratishthan farm as well as in the farms of farmers about the preparation of fertilizers and pesticides based on organic farming. Organic produce is marketed in the weekly Bazaar started by Ankur Pratishthan. As the certification of organic farming individually is very costly so the method of PGS through group certification is followed. Ankur Pratishthan is situated at 10 kilometers away from Ambajogai itemââ¬â¢s like in the vermin compost and Vermin wash is prepared and demonstrated.
Marathwada and particularly Beed district is an area is a rain shadowed region hence the water level here are very low this area is also drought vulnerable is nearly after every few years. The drinking water is provided by the government on this background we form to be working in these villages.
In water resources we have to chosen two villages known as kodri and umrai for watershed the total development plan for water development are these two villages are is prepared and being submitted to NABARD. Water management workshops are held in many villages where the use of drip irrigation, sprinklers is promoted within farmers who have been affiliated to Ankur Pratishthan.
The river two villages need to be dipping and widened so that the water from the rain and hens the level of water increases. The same work is being done in the next two months with the help of anther VO and local farmer.
The project of identifying and promoting the rare, traditional straight variety seeds from the local area is being implemented in twenty villages in two tahshils Ambajogai and Kaij . ten farmer each villages are chosen for giving corresponding seed and multiplying .
From last six years the self help gropes of farm women are farmed in this twenty villages .the no. is eighty two. Many of them are linked to the banks , same are managed by us only. As per micro finance method the finance is given to them for some small business. The sample business finance are dairy ,saree shops , milk products consumer shop etc. regular meetings of these SHGs are held ,the vocational training programs are also held .
Education- one primary English medium school is being run by us in Ambajogai town. Various activities such as gathering, competition, parents meeting etc. are held regularly.
The school from the villages co contacted regularly and awareness in environment, tree plantation, seed identification , is done among to students.
