AchieveMents: Association for Social Health in India, Ujjain MP - The Head quarter of Social Health in India is situated in New Delhi. The State Branch of the Association is at Gwalior under which the Ujjain Branch was started in 1984. The Ujjain Branch controls all those activities which are mentioned in the constitution of the association. Association for Social Health in India Branch Ujjain started Jagrati Nasha Mukti Paramarsh Kendra Since 1st Dec 1988 with collaboration of ministry of social justice and empowerment Govt. of India New Dehi. The Kendra worked for 13 years since 1st March 2000 one Parmarsh Kendra was changed into 15 bed de-addiction center hospital. The de-adiction center is working both as OPD and admitting addicts for nearly 21 to 30 days giving medicinal treatment. Addict are treated in three phases 1. Medical treatment 2 yoga therapy 3. psychological conditioning. Through personal counseling, group counseling, family counseling and psychological counseling the addicts are de-addicted. Follow up in done by the centre after discharging the de-addicted person. Not only from Ujjain city but from remote cities and places like Indore, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Dewas, Shajapur, Guna, HOshangabad, Kota, Bhawani Mandi etc. districts adicts come and get admission in the hospital for treatment. In 2001 with the help of ministry of social justice and empowerment Govt. of India New Delhi H.I.V. Aids counseling centre was started and seperated field worker was appointed to do the Job. With cooperation of city Local administration, Gram Panchayat, N.S.S., M.P. Police and other social organization de-adiction camp were organised in which exhibition of posters, banners, distribution of medicines were performed. Such camp were also organised in child safety centres, jails, backward inhabitants, backward villager to educate peoples against addiction of any kind and to obedient them with the bad effects of addiction and afterwards rehabilate in the family and society. The Jagrati Deaddiction 15 bed hospital was established in March 2000. Since 2000-2001 to 2013-14, 4324 addicts were either treated as OPD and admitted in the hospital and got treatment. Nearly 1525 persons were enjoying adiction free life and are well rehabiliated in their family and society with the help of the centre. Since 2001 the H.I.V,. aids counseling centre is doing its job very adiquetly. Through mailings, posters, pamplets and exhibition the people are getting awareness regarding H.I.V. and Aids, Knowledge of this disease is more important then treatment. In short both the 15 bed deaddiction centre and the HIV Aids counseling centre are doing their job very satisfactory and results are showing working system.
