AchieveMents: Association for Voluntary Action (AVA) was conceptualized in the year First January 1980 as a non profit making voluntary Organisation and formally registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in the year 1982 with the primary objective for socio-economic upliftment of rural poor and vulnerable section of the society. Latter on it was registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 1976. Since then, it has been working tirelessly for the welfare of Older Persons, Person with Disabilities, Women and Children, and other deprived, marginalized and underprivileged sections of the society. During this long trek our Association carves out a name for itself as a leading Voluntary Organisation in the State. Presently our Association is providing both Institutional and Non Institutional services to the above said sections of the society. The brief summary of activities of the association is as follows. PROGRAMME FOR THE WELFARE OF WOMEN and GIRLS Short Stay Home Women and Girls in distress funded by Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi At-Dampur, PO- Berboi, Dist-Puri. Swadhar Center and Help Line for women in difficult circumstances , Min.of WCD Govt. of India, At-Sundargarh Town, Dist- Sundargarh Programme on prevention of Violence against Women, PROGAMME FOR WELFARE OF THE CHILDREN Crèche Centre for children of working and ailing mothers (10nos) funded by Central Social Welfare Board,New Delhi in Lephripada Block of Sundargarh District. WELFARE OF THE OLDER PERSONS Old Age Home (2nos) for destitute older person. Funded by Min.of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India 1. At-Dampur, Po-Berboi, Dist-Puri. 2 .At- Telendihi Po-Telendihi,Dist- Sundargarh. Multi Service Centre For the Aged , Funded by Min.of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India ,in Delang Block of Puri District. Mobile Medicare Unit for Aged, Funded by Min.of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India in Delang Block of Puri District. WELFARE OF THE PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES: Residential Special School For Handicapped Children, Funded by Min.of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India At-Dampur, PO- Berboi, Dist-Puri. Home for the Leprosy Cured Person and Vocational Training Centre, Funded by Min.of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India At-Dampur, PO- Berboi, Dist-Puri. Community Based Rehabilitation Programme For Handicapped, Funded by Min.of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India in Delang Block of Puri District. Prolonged Stay Facility for C.P, M.R & M.D At-Dampur, PO- Berboi, Dist-Puri. PROGRAMME FOR WELFARE OF SC AND ST Residential Secondary School for ST Girls , funded by Min. of Tribal Affairs At-Telendih, Po-Telendihi,Dist- Sundargarh PROGRAMME ON PROHIBITION AND DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION 15 bedded Integrated Rehabilitation and Counselling Centre for Addicts (2nos), Funded by Min.of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India PROGRAMME ON HIV AIDS Targeted Intervention project on HIV AIDS for, I D Us in Puri Town with assistance from Orissa State AIDS Control Society. PROGRAMME FOR WELFARE OF CHILD LABOUR Child labour School (2nos). for children rescued from different hazardous sectors in Puri Town. Relief and Rehabilitation Relief and Rehabilitation work at the time of natural calamities. AWARENESS GENERATION PROGRAMMES ON Environment Protection, HIV AIDS, Consumer Protection and awareness, Right to Information etc.
