AchieveMents: Dr. K.R. Adhikary College of Optometry and Paramedical Technology started its journey at Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal under the active guidance of Greater Kolkata Doctors Association on 28th September 2003 with an affiliation from University of Kalyani. Different Optometry and Paramedical courses of Kalyani University are conducted by us.Dr. K.R. Adhikary College is a voluntary organization and regularly arrange and actively take part in the social activities that are related to the solution of health hazards of common people mainly in rural and slum areas and we feel proud and honoured to take part in this type of health related activities which are beneficial for the society around us and the mankind as a whole. Our institution never tries and desire to get monetary benefit from these activities.In the year 2003 we also started an Out Patients Department named Dr. K.R. Adhikary Seva Pratisthan at 3 Bijoynagar Coloney, East Kanthalpara, Madral Road, Naihati, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. General Physician and Specialist Doctors are regularly examining the patients and distribute free medicines as per our capability from 2 P.M. onwards in all working days except Sunday and holidays. From the year 2006 we started Cataract Operation with I.O.L. implantation at free of cost among poor populatin about 30 numbers of patients per month in collaboration with Rotary Hooghly Eye Hospital. Under National programme for control of Blindness, our desire to establish an Eye operation theater and also for interest of the locality like to established maternity unit in this Seva Pratisthan. From 2nd July 2009 at 6th anniversary of our Seva Pratisthan we started different investigation services at minimal rate in collaboration with MIC, Adhikary X-ray Clinic.At present the address of our College is B-13/66, Kalyani, Nadia which is a two storied rented building. On 11th February 2009 we started an Out Patients Department in this building with all facilities like Dr. K.R. Adhikary Seva Pratisthan, Naihati. Prof. Dr. Arabinda Kumar Das, Vice Chancellor, University of Kalyani kindly inaugurated this O.P.D. and Dr. Tapash Kumar Banerjee, Joint Director of Health Services (Administration), Govt. of West Bengal occupied the chair of Chief Guest at inaugural session.We arrange different seminar to upgrade and refresh knowledge among the Health Professionals and to educate women on legal matters and rights of women in the society. We also arrange different awareness programme in rural and slum areas.We like to work among the mentally and physically disable population and we hope our mission will be fulfilled.Our desire to establish a General Hospital in which super speciality services will be provided at a minimal cost among the poor and middle class people.At present our working areas are as follows :NADIA : Kalyani, Majherchar, Kalitala, Madanpur, Shimurali, Chakdaha, Gangnapur, Gayeshpur.NORTH 24 PARGANAS : 3 No. Bijoynagar Coloney, Naihati, Gorifa, Rajbandigarh, Gouripur, Hazinagar, Halisahar, Bhatpara, Keutia, Madral, Rathtala, Kankinara, Jagatdal, Gurdaha Coloney, Shyamnagar, Garulia, Palta.HOWRAH (In collaboration with Bijoy Krishna Girls College) : Bankra Panchayet I and II and Bijoy Krishna Girls College.
