AchieveMents: Energy Conservation Society (ECS) is a premier Nongovernmental Voluntary Organization(NGO) committed to the cause of promoting Energy Conservation Environment Protection and Sustainable Development in the country. ECS was formed on July 8, 1992 at Thiruvananthapuram Kerala and has now more than 2700 nos. of life Members from among the people of all walks of life, all over India more than 10,000 nos., of student members as volunteers. The thrust areas of activities of ECS are (i) non formal energy and environmental education at primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education. In the practice of energy and environmental conservation through in the about 2000 nos. of school level Energy Conservation Clubs and Collage levels energy and (ii) information dissemination on energy environment and Sustainable Development (iii) training of technicians and engineers in the practice of energy Conservation (iv) Consultancy and advisory services to educational institutions industries commercial establishments, governmental agencies etc. on energy conservation and renewable energy development (v) Energy Auditing in Public building, industries, commercial establishments and other premises of major energy consumption etc. Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Department of Power, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, Energy Management Centre (EMC), ANERT, Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment, Govt. of Kerala, and many other Governmental non- Government agencies are providing unstinted support to the activities of ECS. Presently the society has 18 organizational unit Chapters including one in New Delhi, and we are striving to spread the organization in the other places of the country. 3rd National Energy Congress”Encon 2015” Thrissur,OorjakiranProgramme for energy conservation public awareness among public,National Energy Auditing Competition for Engineering College Students,Solar Energy Training programme for Graduate Engineers,Solar Start Up Programmes converting electrical invertors in to Solar mode for 10,000 houses in all districts of Kerala,KudilJyothiprogramme to light the unelectrified houses,National Cycle Day activities,World Environment day Activities,Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight Activities,National Technology Day activities,etc.were some of our programmes during last year.. National Solar Energy Conference (1994),Total Energy Study Project(1997)Energy Conservation Clubs in Schools(1997),Energy Conservation Campaign Jeep Rally(2002),Kerala State Energy Conservation Cycle Rally(2004),Production and Release of Documentary Film “Energy maman”(2005),3 Days National Residential Energy Study Camps(From 2006),Energy Study and Auditing in 3 District Collectorate(2007),Energy Conservation of District Level Awards for Small and Medium Industries in District Level(2008),Production of Video Album”Yuga Sangeetham”(2009),Installation of Biogas Plants in Schools(2009),State Energy Conservation Cycle Rally(2010),National Energy Congress”Encon”(2011),National Energy Auditing Competition for engineering college students ”NEAC”(2011),Energy Auditing in Branches of Dena Bank(2011), State Level Youth Energy Competition (2012), National Energy Congress”Encon”(2013), Energy Guard (2014), Science Popularization Program (2015) etc.were the major activates organized by ECS in previous years. Kerala Govt. has honored ECS by presenting Energy Conservation Award in 2002 and 2016.The registered office of the Society is at Trivandrum and the working office is at Chalakudy in Thrissur district.
