AchieveMents: GEAG is a non-profit organisation working in the field of environment and sustainable development since 1975. GEAG has been actively engaged in implementing several development projects. In last five years, the organisation was involved in implementing eight major development projects, supported by national and international donors, on livelihood issues of small and marginal farmers, particularly women farmers and landless, urban poor and health. These development projects have set model examples of integration of local wisdom and science, bottom up approach and urban resilience. Through its researches, advocacy and networking, GEAG is recognized as prominent resource organization in north India in the field of sustainable agriculture, participatory approaches-methodology, gender sensitization and community empowerment. GEAG had been nominated a member of the state agriculture advisory Committee by Agriculture ministry of UP due to outstanding contribution in enhancement of adaptive capacity of marginalized farming communities to the impact of climate change. Along with three projects in rural areas, in last five years, GEAG has also undertaken two projects concentrating on urban poverty, focusing on food insecurity with experimenting and promoting urban climate change resilience in four urban centres of the states-UP, Bihar, Assam and West Bengal Presently, GEAG is a well established implementing, resource, consultative and support organization in North India with expertise on Low Cost External Input Sustainable Agriculture ( LEISA),Livelihood models , Climate Change adaptation issue, Disaster Risk Reduction and Gender equality.
