AchieveMents: Jagriti envisions to eradicate illiteracy amongst underprivileged children across slums to uplift and empower them by imparting quality education and vocational training to their families, he wish to see smile on the faces of all such children for a happy, satisfied and dignified life. Areas of Focus 1. Providing total free of cost value based quality Education to underprivileged children with a special focus on children living in slums, till they are financially self sufficient and live a respectable life 2. Vocational training programs with a view to empower their mothers and sisters from the slums to make them self dependent 3. Free of cost Mobile Mortuary Services 24 x 7, where the body of deceased can be kept for few days till the near and dear one arrives. With 13 such mortuary machines the service is being provided free of cost and more than 5000 people are benefitted with this. 4. This has resulted in a big increase in eye donation. Jagriti is responsible for more than 1000 cornea donations till now, with this support there is no waiting list for corneas now. 5. Blood donation drives 6. Many Cancer detection and treatment camps in slums with special focus on cancer cervix. 7. Tree plantation – in last few years lot of trees have been planted 8. Basti cleaning drive Education to underprivileged Children Education is the foundation of any individual and the Nation. Jagriti started with 1 School and 30 Children in 2011 and today it has 11 Schools and 2512 Children from slums. Who are imparted with value based and quality education. Most of the schools have a growth of more than 200-300 percentage. How do we go 1. We go to the slum areas 2. Do extensive and exhaustive door to door survey, Enroll the parents and motivate children to come to school 3. Adopt the Government or Public schools keeping in mind the footfall and distance from the nearby kachibasti. 4. After adoption we reconstruct the building aesthetically keeping in view the needs. 5. Separate Toilet blocks for Girls, Boys and Teachers are provided 6. Water station with RO system is provided. 7. Provide 2 sets of Trousers and Knickers, Shirts; Ribbons, Belt, Shoes, Socks, Sweater, Salwar and legging (for girls), School Bag. Stationary, Books and Mid-day-meal to children (of private schools) absolutely free of cost. 8. Teachers are provided besides already existing Government teachers. 9. Medical camps are organized twice a year. 10. Sanskar camps are held to imbibe cultural values, ethics, manners, etiquettes right from the tender age. 11. Various Art & Craft activities take place to nurture innovation and creativity in our children. 12. We introduced a concept Bal Chaupaal held on weekends it has fun filled education and recreational activities. 13. Regular parent teacher meeting are held in all schools 14. We ensure that our children are exposed to outer world. 15. We organize student enrollment rallies through the lanes of slums to inspire and enroll the non-school going children.
