AchieveMents: The Kalikata Bidhan Manab Samity KBMBS is a Social Welfare association working in Howrah District since 1983 The organization takes up different activities along with other institutions and NGOs. The main activities undertaken by the organization in recent past are community Health care services through house visit by the health workers and giving the basic informations on preventive health, curative health care services through medical clinic in the head office Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme RNTCP MCTC with the Govt. of West Bengal and Direct Observe Treatment CBDOTs through CARE West Bengal to control TB, Forming and Maintaining of Peoples Organization Micro credit through SHGs, Disaster Management through Relief work HIV AIDs awareness programme, Lowcost Housing and Sanitation programme etc Our work for the past 28years in this area has given us lots of new ideas The support and cooperation from NGOs Other likeminded Institutions and government departments encourages us to carry forward the work incorporating the lessons from the past Vision The Kalikata Bidhan Manab Samity KBMBS envisions an INDIA wherein people Are assured of clean air, water and empowerment are able to fulfill their basic needs are able to get proper education are able to develop themselves to lead a better livehood do not suffer from any preventable disease are able to manage their health needs are able to control the forces which cause ill health enjoy dignity and equality and are partners in decisions that affect them, irrespective of caste, creed, religion or economic status and respect human life and hold and nurture it to grow into its fullness. Mission In order to realize the vision, KBMBS endeavors to promote community development, understood as a process of enabling the people especially the poor and the marginalized to be collectively responsible to attain and maintain their Basic Needs and demand Freedom of accessibility to all development aspects as a right and Ensure availability of health & Medical care of reasonable quality at reasonable cost.
