Maya distributed clothes to the poor and needy living in different parts of New Delhi. Some of the major slums and temporary settlements covered in New Delhi included Badarpur, Tughlaqabad, and Seemapuri.

The NGO collected not just the war clothes to make winters comfortable for the poor and needy of Delhi, but also ensured that the basic need of clothing is also taken care of. Since women and children have always been the main focus areas of the NGO, in this year, Maya distributed tea and tiffin, along with toys, to bring smiles on the faces of children living in the various slums.

Although this increased the overhead expenses, however the distribution was smoother and the amount of chaos caused on ground was much lesser—thanks to the avoidance of a situation of clambering of clothes by the people in the open. The collection of clothes this year totalled to 1000 kg.

But that was not the only thing that the NGO gave out to the poor and needy living in Delhi. With special focus on women and children, Maya focussed on the distribution of women’s clothing, children’s school bags and toys, and shoes for all. Between the months of November and February, Maya distributed warm clothes across the city. Also, the members of Maya interacted more with the people to better understand their needs.
