AchieveMents: Mime Academy established in 1991 is an organisation for the development of Mime headed by Sangeet Natak Awardee, (2009) Moinul Haque, who is a known figure in the field of Art- Culture, Dramatic world of our Country. As an inborn artist Mr.Haque is the pioneer of Mime in India. Moinul Haque has been working in the field of Mime over the last 30 years in diverse characters. His career started in the early 1970 as a Mono Actor. He has acted in plays, films and Tele serials and his versatility made these passages easy and rewarding. Moinul Haque is an empanelled Mime artiste of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi, India. For his dedicated work with Deaf and Dumb School at Guwahati, he obtained senior fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India. He is a visiting faculty of Allahabad University, Bharatendu Natya Academy, Lucknow, National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh School of Drama, Bhopal School of Drama, Guwahati Akhora Ghar, Dibrugarh etc. Mr. Haque has conducted National Workshop of Mime at Rourkella, Orissa, Panchmari, M.P., Gangtok, Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Island, Tura, Shillong, Itanagar, Allahabad, Guwahati and many more. Under the able guidance and supervision of Sri Moinul Haque, Gauhati University Mime team has earned many prizes in the National Youth festivals organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Apart from stage Mime, he has been working for the health awareness Programme of HIV/AIDS, TOBACCO with a Guwahati based Health organization, GNRC at many places in Assam with his repertory Mime Academy.
