AchieveMents: Nabagram Block SC/ST Backward Community Progressive Society is a rural based registered organization dedicated for the cause of disadvantaged,underprivileged poor and needy segments of people.In consonance with national objectives and priorities,it has been undertaking various activities for the cause of the rural poor.This organization which has already completed 21 years has the confidence to keep its activities with active support of all concerned,particularly the donor agencies and the people of the community.The mission of the Society is to strengthen the socio-economic condition in the area of operation by providing financial and other support services to the poor and needy segmenrs of people on a sustainable basis.The Activities/Programme highlights of the organization are: 1. Celebration of National Notable Days days of national importance are observed in a befitting manner with hoisting of National flag,Procession with colorful festoons and banners,distribution of sweets 7 snacks to the participants 2.Celebration of Birth Anniversary of Great sons of the country Birth anniversaries of the great sons of the country e.g.,dr.b.R.ambedkar,rabindranath Tagore,Mahatma Gandhi,netaji subhas chandra Bose are observed as a mark of respect & tributes to them 3. Rajiv Gandhi National creche Scheme with the assistance & financial support of Central Social Welfare Board,4(four) creche centres are being run at 4(four) different places of Nabagram Block.25 children are accommodated at each centre under the supervision of the respective creche mothers with facilities of reading,writing,safe drinking water and nutritional facilities etc. 4. Construction of low cost sanitation units Low cost sanitation toilets are constructed in all the 12 GPs of Khargram Block.In order to make mission successful and result- oriented,Awareness Programmes and group meetings are held in all the 12 GPs followed by folk songs on sanitation,demonstration workshops,mike canvassing etc. 5. Construction of School Toilets for a clean & hygienic conditions at the School premises,school toilets are constructed Achievements of these activities have been observed,as creches have enabled working mothers augment income by placing their children in the creches, low cost sanitation have caused multi faceted development of the community.
