AchieveMents: Natakamane ââ¬â A Centre for performing Arts
Natakamane, a group of dedicated theatre activists, took its birth with the collective participation of rural artists an theatre organizers. It was Mr. Mahalingu, who created this association with the advice of Padmashree B.V.Karanth, veteran V.Ramamurthy and experimental Drama specialist Gopalakrishna Nairy. It was registered as a trust at the instance of Sri.B.V.Karanth. Since its inception, Natakamane is being engaged in experimental theatre and folk theatre activities with an objective of developing a new horizon in Kannada Ranga Bhoomi.
We have been very fortunate to have services of the professionally senior stage specialists like Mr. B.V.Karanth, V.Ramamurthy, Gopalakrishna Nairy, Suresh Anagalli, Jayaram Tatachar, Sambashiva Dalawayi, Omkar, Dr. Raju, Walter Dââ¬â¢Souza, Tulsidhar Kurup, Pankaj Saxena and others from National School of Drama, New Delhi who have really, contributed for the development of our organization and to the Indian Theatre.
Natakamane from the very beginning had the perspective of developing experimental and innovative theatre with the modern outlook along with the rich tradition of our land, language, customs and culture. This is very clear in our workshops, dialogues, symposium, conventions, festivals, demonstrations, lectures and performances those have been placed on this perspective in different times.

Besides the senior theatre specialists we have also developed young directors like Melehalli Devaraj, M.S.Umesh, Shivakumar Thimmalapur, Dakshayani Bhatt, Sowmya Parveen, Savitha.B and few others have all blossomed as young directors and actors in Kannada theatre.
Natakamane Mahalingu who has master minded the entire organization is being successful in availing the services of great personalities of Kannada theatre world too like H.V.Venkatasubbaiah, Prof. Ka.Vem Rajagopal, a puppetry expert Belagallu Veeranna was some of the people who are continuously associated with Natakamane. All these reputed stage specialists including Mr.Mahalingu had been awarded by Karnataka Nataka Academy as experts in respective field.
Natakamane has distinguishing by providing momentum to theatre by energizing thinkers and theatre workers, bringing them together and developing a national and professional theatre topics.
