AchieveMents: Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore is a voluntary service organization, with the vision of raising the awareness and initiating action for economic and environmentally sustainable development of Coimbatore. RAAC has been formed to express the concerns of the citizens in Coimbatore and to bring to focus the need for taking suitable steps to ensure the city and its surrounding areas are able to meet the future with confidence. RAAC activities mainly focus on three areas namely, Urban Infra Structure, Solid Waste Management and Environment Protection. The main objectives of RAAC is 1. To Develop the city of coimbatore particularly residential layouts 2. To emphasize and popularize the concept of sustainable development and to oppose all lopsided and resource debilitating developments within the city of Coimbatore. 3. To promote cooperation friendships peaceful living and understanding amongst the owners of independent houses in city of coimbatore 4. To manage, maintain, protect, take care of and improve the common amenities properties , roads, sites, gardens, play grounds, libraries, community halls, electric facilities, water connection , sewage connection, drainage, and such other common properties, things or rights already owned, existing or those which may be created , acquired, owned or obtained in future for the benefits, and/or advantage of all the members of the association 5. To preserve and improve the hygiene and eco friendly atmosphere of the city of coimbatore and its surroundings 6. To serve the weaker section of the society and aid to uplift their society and economic wellbeing 7. To promote fraternity, unity, integrity, patriotism and sectional tolerance and to celebrate national events and festivals involving people from all sections of society irrespective of caste, creed, culture or religion 8. To aid and serve all those in any part of the globe who are affected by natural calamities such as tsunami, cyclone, flood, earthquake, and the like 9. To facilitate an effective system / schemes for garbage disposal, vehicle parking system and security arrangement in the specific localities of the member of the association. OUR CURRENT ACTIVITIES INCLUDES, 1. Awareness and implementation of systematic Solid Waste Management in residential apartments and public communities in partnership with Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation and No Dumping: My Waste My responsibility. 2. Active Participation in Swachh Bharat Urban in partnership of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation through awareness programs, documentations and organization of mass thematic cleaning programs in public places. 3. Active participation in advisory board of Coimbatore Smart city Limited in the verticals of lakes & water bodies and Model Road through systematic studies on lakes and roads. 4. Development and Maintenance of Urban forests, Recreational Parks, walker’s parks and children park in partnership with Robert Bosch CSR initiatives. 5. Development & implementation of Digital class room in government school in Gandhimanagar, Coimbatore. 6. Promotion and implementation of household Green Digester Covai Composter to motivate residents to compost green kitchen waste in their home (onsite composting) in partnership with Ideal Ploy Technologies Pvt Ltd.
