AchieveMents: Ours is a registered society catering to the needs of orphans, destitute children, widows and deserted women and above all the aged. We work in rural and urban areas of Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvellore District. Share and Care is dedicated to eliminate the suffering of the poor through education and poverty through variety of social welfare programme and outreach activities. Our first programme in 1984 started with helping the pregnant mothers with good nutrition and care of the new born babies. in 1989 we built 150 toilets, planted trees and also installed pipes in the fishermen village near Mahabalipuram. In 1988 we opened a health centre for polioin Chennai and later we have a rehabilitation home for physically challenged girls who are learning skills to meet their livelihood. We had four creches in the city as well as in the rural areas covering 30 children. At present we have one creche in the rural areas. We started with 50 children. At present we have 200 children in the home where we give them the basic facilities like shelter, food and clothes. We have a primary school and High School. 500 children are imparted education. The High School was started in 1990. It was especially started for Scheduled Caste and Tribal communities. We bring these children into main stram of curriculum from the remote villages providing free transport, clothing, text books, excursion, yearly games, mid day meals, inter school games and yoga. Our school secures 98% every year in the State Board Examination. Health Centre in Katchur benefits community in large. Age care was started in 1985. Today we are having 400 older persons covering in the 4 day centres in Tiruvellore District and 2 distribution centre in Chennai. We have been repairing the huts of elders now and then. We also started Revolving Fund Scheme for 150 elder persons. 20 medical camp, 12 eye camps we have covered in the past years. 450 cataract surgeries have been done. 900 spectacles supplied to the elders. We have arranged to get the old age pension for more than 200 older persons. We also distribute provisions, toileteries, detergent, pocket money to the centres in Katchur as well as Manali in Chennai. In the Day Centre we give 3 times food, clothes, pocket money, recreation. Income generation programme was also started by giving them buffalos in the Revolving Fund Scheme. We give awareness programme to the elders on variety of subjects. We conduct advocacy programme for the elders and women. We impart education to the women and empower them by micro credit fund. Training is imparted to them on variety of programmes like catering, enterprenurship, budgeting, banking, etc. We have 500 women groups in the different villages in Tiruvellore District. We have non formal centre on the way to Mahabalipuram in Kancheepuram District. 50 children attend the evening tuition centre.

we run home for destitute and orphan boys and girls since 1984 primary and high schools for the upliftment of poor children especially belong to dalith and tribal communities since 1991 in katchur dist.
we formed 350 woman self-help group and help them in starting small rates, youth groups and group for elders.
250 polio affected girls where given pre surgical corrections physiotheraphy and artificial limbs, wheelchairs and given training in income generation programs.
Age care programs through our day care centres in the villages and giving them food and recreational activities. periodical medical dental and eye camps conducted. built toitets for fisherman villages and huts for poor and eletrification of huts in katchur village. we helped people affected by natural calamities.
