AchieveMents: Himalayan Nature & Adventure Foundation(HNAF) is a leading non profit voluntary organization based in Siliguri,West Bengal Estd. in 1990 and registered under West Bengal Society Registration Act in 1996 and affiliated to Indian Mountaineering Foundation , New Delhi.
Long term support and involvement in the man animal conflict management of the region having actively participated in the awareness programs, capacity building of the staff and villagers and Tea Garden workers and forest fringed villages.
Organizing Nature Study Camps over a period of more than 25 years, for all categories of Differently Abled boys and girls from all over the country(probably HNAF is the only organization in India to organize such camp regularly),as well as for the children in distress and general boys & girls.
Survey and bird census and annual water fowl counts in various PAs and different wetlands, and Reserve Forests of North Bengal
Completed Survey on Fishes of North Bengal in 3 major National Park/Santuaries
Conducted and participated in collaboration with State Forest Dept.various censes of Rhino, Elephant, Tiger and Red Panda
A three year Glacial study & exploration in the Onglathang & Rathong Glacier in west Sikkim Himalaya a project of Viswavarathi University, Santiniketan in collaboration with HNAF in which HNAF supported with strong technical & human resource
Regular Cleaning and awareness campaigning in Siliguri city and different Himalayan trek routes
Mountaineering Expeditions : Already organized Eight climbing expedition including 2 unclimbed peaks of Indian Himalaya.Organized regular Trekking, Rock climbing Courses, Annual Adventure Trekking & Camping Courses for youths of the state Etc.
Disaster management particularly during landslides and floods when members of the team have actively participated in the relief and rescue operations because of their experience, training and skill in the field
ââ¬ÅSave Water campaignââ¬Â a water conservation project is on progress in all 47 Wards of Siliguri Municipal Corporation and different school and colleges of North Bengal
Different Educational programme on nature & wildlife awareness in various educational institutions & Villages
Conducting Eco Tourism & Nature guide training in various part of North Bengal.
HNAF is actively participating, as a partner organization in the ongoing project of Kanchenjunga Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative (KLCDI) under G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment & Sustainable Development, Gantok, Sikkim.
Other then these with the support of over 150 volunteer members from different part of country and different spheres of life HNAF took part toghether with several State and Central Govt. organization/institution in various projects and social works.
