AchieveMents: Major Achievements of SGVV Community Based Rehabilitation in 20 villages a) Formed one strengthen Core Committee in Rania Block b) 243 disabled received certificate of disability c) 32 disabled children get home based education d) 29 disabled children got enrolled in govt. schools and enjoying education with unchallenged children e) 7 groups have formed a “Parents of Disabled” Committee f) 105 disabled have opened their own bank account g) 143 disabled are getting Vivekanand Stipend h) 5 disabled children are getting Stipend from school i) 7 disabled are getting ADL regularly and they are able to do their daily work by themselves j) 65 disabled benefited of aid & appliances k) 8 disabled are engaged in self employment l) 10 disabled benefited from physiotherapy Education a) 27 young girls who were not going to schools have passed their matriculation b) 250 children used the crèche services so their mothers could earn a living c) 12 young girls passed their matriculation from the Residential School d) 145 children have gone into the mainstream education after completing the 1 year NET school programme Agriculture & Food Security (integrated watershed development programmes in 4 villages) a) 25 farmers are using the well for agricultural purposes b) 29 models were created on 10 acres of land c) 10,000 fish seeds were put into the models to stimulate fishery d) 23 farmers are growing different types of vegetables around the models e) The water in the models have saved the farmers from draught situations and drinking problems f) Migration of labor had been reduced in 4 villages due to multiple harvest opportunities g) 2 acres of Strategatrench were created to fight soil erosion h) 3500 of different plants were planted i) 20 farmers adapted new economical techniques of paddy cultivation j) 150% increase in paddy production compared to traditional methods Child trafficking a) 2 adolescence groups were formed, in total containing 35 girls. b) 6 rescued girls are currently enjoying college education c) 35 girls receive different types of vocational training like poultry, piggery, fishery and food processing d) 13 girls are engaged in different types of self employment e) 166 trafficked children Women empowerment a) 41 SHG groups were formed in 20 villages. b) Every SHG opened their own bank account and is being used by the group as a whole c) Total amount of rupees of savings is 2,68,000 d) 1 group took on road construction work e) 2 women worked on well renovation f) All groups have saving accounts, personal accounts, cash books, loan books, etc. g) 35 women are engaged in different types of self employment h) 1 women federation is formed on block level, consisting of 25 women
