AchieveMents: Sishu Bikash Kendra ( SBK) , through its creche and Preschool (ECCE program) has so far provided to at least 1500 parents / gaurdians for their children, comprehensive affordable services in childcare, health, nutrition, play and early learning within a protective and enabling environment. [1] Early Childcare service - The creche is safe and secure with biometric monitoring with Caregiver to children ratio as 8:55. Pest control, fire safety measures, clean eco-friendly spacious campus are all part of the facilities provided. [2] Early Childhood Health Service- SBK has being providing periodical medical health check up to the children of the creche and preschool by qualified doctors. [3] Early Childhood Education Service- SBK through its preschool has being providing early education to the children from the society primarily by adopting a combination of Montessori, Play-Based and other prevalent curriculum of Preschool teaching. [4] Socio-economic welfare Benefits: SBK, has being providing training and generating employment for unskilled/unskilled workers, caregivers (aayas) and preschool educators. [5]Training Benefits to trainees under various Childcare and Education Programs- SBK has being facilitating "Orientation Visits" and "Practical Classes" to various trainees undertaking Training and Courses in ECCE programs under different institutions such as DispurCollege, Handique College (both affiliated to Gauhati University), Indian Council of Child Welfare, Regional Colege of Nursing, Guwahati , Govt of Assam. Since its 22 years of existence SBK has being working on the basis of some of the best recommendations of Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt of India ECCE Policy, ICDS objectives Directorate of Social Welfare, Govt of Assam and Early Childhood Development (ECD) objectives of UNICEF.
