Society For Integrated Development Key Issues and Operational Areas, Major Activiities & Achivements

AchieveMents: We took Floricuture as income generation activity for rural BPL families in Dhanbad District of Jharkhand state under flagship of Gobindpur Flower Producer Co. Ltd. which is registered co. of SHG members. This has become one of most successful poverty alleviation program in area. With the influence of this program more and more villagers are joining this project. Under Jharkhand Tribal Development Program (JTDP) which is funded by International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) and World Food Program (WFP), we revived production of Lac in Bundu block, Ranchi, Jharkhand. Bundu is famous for production of world class lac but due to various reasons there were crop failure happening in recent year but due to our extensive effort now again production of lac is happening. We are working with 700 female sex workers (FSWs) in Targeted Intervention (TI) project supported by National Aids Control Organization (NACO) and Jharkhand State Aids Control Society (JSACS) in Lohardaga Dist. of Jharkhand. Lohardaga is one of highly naxal affected area. Working upon issue like Aids and sexuality very risky here but due to our effort and local support we are working successfully.
