The Society of Aborigines, since 2008 has been running an orphanage, Mount Carmel Childrenâs Home at Sukhalu Village, Zunheboto. The society provides free food, free lodging and free education to children in need of care and protection affected by ethnic violence and other children without parents . Most of the beneficiaries are below 12 years of age and from Neighbouring villages. As a recognition for its activities, the society has been provided with GIA from ICDS Nagaland from 2012.

Due to its past achievements, it is now a recognised and licensed Child Care Institute in the District of Zunheboto. State Child Protection Society, Govt. Of Nagaland has been aiding the Society by providing Grant-In-Aid since 2012.
