AchieveMents: Sri Venkateswara Bala Kuteer was started in 1965 by N.Manga Devi and G.Prabhavathi with a zeal to work for the child, to whom we turn with a hope for a better future. How old is the institution may not be the criteria to Judge its efficiency. How best it is exemplary in imparting stress-free education, taking care of individual abilities, nurturing the latent talents, achieving academic excellence, Cultivating compassion and concern for the fellow-beings, Inculcating respect to our values, culture and Nation Bala Kuteer, which has been creating new trends in the annals of education is appraised as the synonym of commitment. The process of learning is structured carefully to be positive, innovative, creative and communicative to make the children self-reliant, self-motivated and self-disciplined to face the challenges of global village. Her meet with Mother Theresa in 1977 proved to be providential in her life. Manga Devi took the suggestion given by Mother to Do something to the needy as a dictum. Thus emerged CHETANA, A Multi-Purpose Rural Project to cater to the needs of all the needy sections of population through different activities as mentioned below Childrens Village (Orphanage) - to provide Home for the Homeless Nandana - a Non - formal School for the child labourers School on Wheels — Bus School going to the doorstep of the Children in the slums Krishi - a Vocational training centre Sandhya Raga - a Home for the Senior Citizens Raksha - a Rehabilitation centre for destitute women Subhra - construction of toilets at the houses of girl children of child labour school to create awareness for health and hygiene Jeevana Rekha - a Family Counselling centre Swastha - a Rural Health Centre to provide free medical aid to the surrounding villages Two Training Centers of ICDS to Anganwadi Teachers and helpers to enrich their skill in promoting awareness in nutrition, health, hygiene and pre-schooling to women and children of the downtrodden section. Under her tutelage, 28000 women have undergone ANGANWADI training and they are all involved in rural upliftment awakening the spirit of women empowerment. Early Childhood Educators Training Centre to fulfill the needs of the rural and urban teachers separately Alternative Medication Centre — a Health Centre with Naturopathy, Ayurveda, Homeo, Yunani etc… In recognition of Dr.Manga Devi’s services through the institution the Government and many renowned organizations in and outside India honoured her with many Awards. Andhra Pradesh Sahitya Akademi Award for Children Literature Sphurthi Puraskar in the field of Education through Smt Santha Sinha from BSK Foundation Visishta Mahila – Award from Doordarshan in the Field of Education Prathibha Puraskaram from Acharya Nagarjuna University in the field of Education Siromani Award by World Telugu Conference, New York.
