AchieveMents: Sunaada Cultural Center, the brain child of Prof. Mysore Nagamani Srinath established in the year 1985 and celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 2010. Dr. Nagamani Srinath, Founder & Director of SUNAADA CULTURAL CENTRE is the nucleus of this center for classical arts imparting quality carnatic Classical music to their students and also helps in assimilating Indian Culture. Dr.Nagamani Srinath is a teacher par excellence and has more than four decades of experience in the art of teaching, worked as professor and Head of the department of music in Govt. Maharanis Arts College, Mysore and Bangalore for 30 years, and worked as visiting professor in both Bangalore and Mahaveer jain universities for post graduation. She is a multifaceted personality, a combination of a teacher, organizer, composer, administrator and a concert musician of international repute and ââ¬ËAââ¬â¢ top artist of All India Radio and Dooradarshan. The gold medals, Titles, Appreciations, Citations and laurels awards have followed throughout her carrier including ââ¬â * Central sangeeth Natak academy puraskar from government of India, (The first lady artist of Karnataka State received this award for carnatic music) * ââ¬ÅRajyothsava Prashastiââ¬Â, * Best Teacher Award, * Karnataka Kalashree- from Karnataka Government. * Chowdaiah national Award and Prestigious Sangeetha Kalacharya and many more.. Nagamani belongs to an exclusive and elite group of musicians who have held center stage in the field of Carnatic music for over 5 decades. As a rare gem among contemporary musicians, Nagamani is an astute grammarian with deep insight into the facets of the enthralling medium of music. Nagamani started teaching Carnatic Music from basic to masters through this center in typical ââ¬ÅGurukulaââ¬Â style. She catered to the needs of both beginners as well as Senior students. AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF SCC Gurukula and Sangeetha Saadhane: Music is a banyan tree, so that each and every one should share and enjoy the shade. To keep these roots alive by taking the best advantage of available advanced technology means: a humble effort is made by SCC to preserve and propagate the great treasure of Indian culture and art by conventional methods. The globally well received project conceived by Prof.Nagamani to imitate the traditional gurukula style, an Audio - Visual ââ¬ÅGurukulaââ¬Â DVDs and ACDs ââ¬ÅSangeeta Sadhanaââ¬Â for Junior, Senior, Vidwath grade curriculum is brought forth. Carnatic music has been taught (practical and theory )from basics to masters in this DVDs and ACDs containing classical music Shlokas, Varnas, Kritis, Keerthanas, Vachanas, Tillaanas and Ragam-Tanam-Pallavis. Nearly 500 hours of DVDs have already been released. Sunaada - Sangeetha Title Course: SCC has launched ââ¬ÅSUNAADA- SANGEETHAââ¬Â, an academic 6 year course in USA and 3 years in India with a well-designed curriculum. It takes the responsibility to prepare potential students to give a concert by the end of the course. Workshops, Lecture Demo, Festivals & Conference: Sunaada Cultural Center arranges many festivals, conferences and programs of eminent artists. In that perspective, SCC arranges a lot of music workshops, lecture demonstration and concerts from various renowned artists, so that students those who are interested in pursuing Carnatic music academically can gain the knowledge and and acquaintance with great masters. Nagamani herself conducts various workshops in Devotional & classical music at villages to propagate Indian Art and Culture. Promoting Promising Artists & Talent Search Festival: Sunaada Cultural Centre recognizes learners who can become promising performers where in Guru Prof Nagamani Srinath herself allows and provides opportunities to sing along with her in major esteemed platforms in order to help students understand the practicalities of a concert. Group Production: SCC also focuses on thematic group multimedia productions, such as Music-Dance-Drama - Devotional features under the Direction of Prof. Nagamani. Haridasa Spandana, Purandara and Tyagaraja, Sanaatana saarathi, Bhakti Kampana, Kavi Kaavya Deepthi, Kala Tapaswi, Mysore composers and many more have been successful productions. SCC is also the producer of a 13 episode popular tele-serial ââ¬ÅMysore composersââ¬Â that was directed by Nagamani, telecast on Doordarshanââ¬â¢s national network. In all the above productions, young and upcoming artists are trained to sing in synchronized harmony along with fine blend of melody. They are groomed to sing both as enhancers of group music as well as solo performers with high level manodharma sangeetha.
